Ahoy
13 boats came out this evening for a light air race around course 0 in reverse with a fun, off-wind start. The flooding current slowed everyone as they beat westward from East Chop to West Chop. Getting out of it was the move to make even though some wind strength was sacrificed. Apres won the cup by just 7 seconds, inching out Truckin. Gloria was an entire 28 seconds behind Truckin and other positions were also decided by the second hand on the clock. His third in a row victory wins Apres a 15 sec/mile rating adjustment for the remainder of the season, putting it's rating back closer to the rating he carried for years when he sported a bigger jib.
You gotta love the smooth water and the light of the setting sun regardless of your racing success.
See you Sunday for more of the 2024 Vineyard Summer,
Roger.
