Ahoy!
15 boats raced the triangle in reverse this evening. It was a 1 mile beat to Can 23a followed by a downwind run to Nun 4 and a close reach to the finish. I don't think anyone saw anything over 10 knots, consistently from the east. Current was a help if you found it. One unique thing about handicap races which are dependent on the finishing times rather than simply calling positions as the boat cross the finish line, is the possibility of tie scores for any of the positions. Today's race resulted in a tie, to the second, for first place between Trinity and Julia Lee. Both will get a coffee cup. David McDonough wants to cut back his yacht ownership to just his J42 so is offering his C&C 37, Trinity, for sale. Perfect boat for the HHSA of 2023 as we are sporting a growing fleet of boats over 30 feet long.
Next race is Sunday, 2 PM Warning. July 2023 is shaping up to be some record turnouts. So great to have a fleet of boats of every description.
Roger.
