8 boats raced course # 1 in reverse today with a windward starting leg. A good wind of about 13 knots and higher gusts made the big boats sing. The largest, the Swan 42 "Bia", sang the loudest and crossed the line 6 minutes in the lead and corrected to first by about 2 minutes. There was wind just about everywhere you could go between the chops with a little less at the Can 23a at East Chop. Maybe the Hospital was blocking the Lagoon Southernly? The Steamship Authority ferries are really working hard to accommodate the HHSA so far this year...holding back and swinging wide to make room for our twice weekly events.
HHSA racing takes Thursday and next Sunday off to make sure all the members can participate in the Sail MV Vineyard Cup. You can still register for the Saturday and Sunday series with classes for every interested boat.
