Ahoy!

10 boats raced around the triangle this evening in about 10 knots of wind that came and went, shifting west to northwest with some southerly elements to throw you off.  The foul current for the Nun 4 to Can 23a leg allowed some in the back to catch up and without a decent beat from East Chop to the finish as the wind went NW it was no problem for Sandpiper to win  by 12 minutes on corrected time!  The rest of the fleet corrected out to within 8 and a half minutes...in fact, we had a tie to the second for 8th place.  Positions 4, 5 and 6th were decided within 15 seconds.
The snack bar at the VHYC has become a popular spot on Thursday Evenings, overloading the remaining staff of the club.  No one minded as the weather was delightful, the view of the outer harbor magnificent and conversation stimulating.

Sunday with be the final 2022 season's race.  The H-12 fleet is hosting an island wide regatta to follow our 1:05 start.  It is expected to draw a crowd of H-12s from Edgartown and Menemsha to join the HHSA's H-12 fleet.   The committee boat will be busy with their multiple races so HHSA big boat skippers are asked to take their own finish times and report them to me as text to 774-310-0023 or email:  RGBecker@Yahoo.com.  You are to finish within 50'  of NUN 6 and mark your GPS time at finish as you pass between the Nun and the Yacht Club.

Still time to register for the Moffett Race.  There are numerous new boats of diverse design joining us this year, so don't miss it.  It's a handicapper's nightmare but you can be sure there will be only one winner...unless there is a tie.

Pot Luck awards dinner is at the Stout's on Wednesday, Sept. 7th, 6:00PM start.  We'll discuss post season racing at the meeting.

All the Best,   Roger.
