Ahoy!

Seven boats raced the triangle clockwise in a variable NW wind this evening.  The wind velocity was uneven but the direction held pretty consistently, trying to get over West chop from maybe just southwest of Woods Hole.  The flushing flooding current which can cause a west current at Nun 4 caught most boats overstanding at that mark but other than that, the choices were limited and the racers needed to rely on just keeping their speed up to stay in the running.  Trinity would have won handily but a turn to leeward at the port end of the starting line to scrub off some time, necessitated that Silhouette, who had offered Trinity room, to rapidly maneuver to avoid a costly collision.  Trinity's crew, well aware of their burdened position gracefully offered to retire.  That left Altius with the win, just 2 seconds ahead of Apres.  Zenith waited until the last day of September to join us this year, although she did race the Moffett.

Two boats have now completed 5 post season races, so the Hugh Schwarz cup will surely be awarded...to whom is still to be decided.

Good forecast for Sun on Sunday, but expect light winds.

See you there,  Roger.
