HHSA - Tarpaulin Cove Pursuit Start times etc.

Ahoy! 

     If you hadn't heard by now, Thursday evening's race was cancelled for lack of wind.  6 optimists showed up at Owen Park hoping there would enough to warrant readying the boats, but alas, although there a few drops of rain there was not a drop of wind. 

    Sunday promises strong NE winds through the morning and the committee decided the Rendezvous race to Tarp will be held as scheduled using the honor system for start and finish.  In so far as the forecast shows plenty of wind, no provision will be made to move the race to the harbor.  If the winds are too much for the trip up the sound, they will be too strong for the harbor also.  HHSA includes some big boats who have been waiting for a good blow and they are encouraged to take advantage of Sunday's winds.  As usual it will be up to each skipper to decide if he/she wants to go.  The start times are below and attached.  The current will be favorable and with the wind towards Tarp, but the trip back won't be helped until later in the afternoon.  The course distance has been adjusted to establish the start times to reflect the help and the fleet is expected to finish at the same time, all tying for first place.   Finish within 50 feet of the can at Tarp, either side and report the time of finish and which boats were ahead and behind or along side of you.
