HHSA - Sunday's Results

Ahoy!

Two big boats showed up and raced to Tarpaulin Cove in blustery conditions today.  The fair current screaming up the sound joined the NE wind to push those boats to the finish the 8.5mile course in just an hour's time.  Sienna with a 2 minute 41 second head start increased her lead, finishing about 12 minutes ahead of Trinity.  Both skippers reported that the trip back was a slog against a 2 to 3 knot current and the unrelenting wind.  Wind gusts were reported in the 30 mph range.  Neither complained about conditions and in fact relished the test of their heavy craft and hard working crew.  Incidentally, the can at Tarp has been removed, but today there was a large Coast Guard mooring sporting the Coast Guard vessel "Sanibel" and that served as the finish line.

Next race is Thursday evening.  Forecast is for significantly less wind.

All the Best,

Roger.
