HHSA - Start Times: Race to Robinson's Hole

Ahoy!

Here are the Start Times for the 2019 Rendezvous race to Robinson's Hole.  If you are not on this list and intend to race, please let me know so I can get you a time...Guests are welcome.

If the weather is not suitable for the trip, a harbor course may be substituted.  In that case, the committee boat will signal its intentions and the harbor starting sequence will begin at 11:00 AM.  Use Channel 73 or observe the fleet on the water to determine if a change is being made. 

This race will be dedicated to Bob Jewett who recently passed away.  Bob, the son of Frank Jewett, one of the founders of the HHSA,  was for decades a dedicated member of the HHSA and the VHYC, sailing his O'day outlaw "Intuition" and taking over the Soling, "Andiamo II" from Harry Duane in more recent times.  He often showed up as crew on other members boats over the years and those members benefited greatly from the experience.

The course is as follows. 

Rendezvous at West Beach,  Robinson's Hole: Start between Committee Boat and Red Nun 6.  Leave Red Nun 4 to port.  Finish between Can 1 on the Sound side of Robinson's Hole and the committee boat in Robinson's Hole. Nominal distance 11.2 miles. Pass through the hole, anchor and raft off West Beach on Naushon Island for lunch.
