RE: Thursday's Results

Thanks for interpreting my re-construction of events.  I visited Phil at his office today to discuss his time and demonstrated how fantastic the lap stopwatch is as a tool UNTIL you fat finger reset yourself!!   I will use it again – with additional backup equipment – the next time I do this. I can’t text the right characters on my phone while sitting still, so extra precautions will have to be taken by anyone using a touch phone on a rocking boat.

 

I would take the challenge solo again if need be, now that I know what to look for.  If the weather is decent, I may choose to use my Whaler however, to increase the odds that the committee boat is facing in the right direction!  J

 

I’m a maybe for Sunday with an early ferry requirement which means I could not replace Charlie this time.

Ahoy! 

 

      I've computed the results based on Frank's numbers and Phil's self timing.  As you can see, every second counts when determining the results.  Unless there is a protest, I'll score the race using these times and results.

 

     Thanks Frank for the effort and taking on the task.  I think everyone can agree there is more to committee boat work than meets the eye.  Hopefully each HHSA sailor will add these skills to their improving sailing skills. 

 

     Dave, what's the schedule for the next post season race?
