Ahoy!

Today's race has been dedicated to Michael Loberg who passed away this morning.  Mike sailed the Morris 36 "Masquerade" with HHSA for at least a decade, as recently as 2023.  He served on the board of governors and brought a lot of energy to everything he did.   We all will miss him and the positivity he carried with him everywhere he went.

10 boats raced the triangle this evening in a dying easterly with shifty light winds.  Blue skies and with sun joined just a little slop and fair current to drive the boats around the course.  It paid to have a fast boat which cleared the course as the slower boats suffered the diminishing breeze before they got the finish signal..  Still the fleet finished pretty close but a good 10 minutes slower than a typical 3.2 mile course.  Zebra won as she seems to be finding her legs...maybe a good crowd on board is the trick?   The Storm 18 came out again...this time finishing 6 seconds ahead of Gloria, bettering her time of about 2 minutes behind Gloria on Sunday.

Forecast for Sunday is light winds again...but is clear the weatherman is struggling to make heads or tails out of the recent weather patterns.

    All the best,  Roger.

We had a great evening of racing tonight with 10 boats on water. The wind ended up staying pretty East at around 5-7 kts. We stuck with Course 0 in the regular direction with a reaching start off of Buoy 6. The fleet stayed tight and finished within the hour. It was a beautiful evening for racing! A few pictures of the start are attached below.

5:05 PM start, Course 0, winds 5-7 kts E/SE

  1. Zebra - 5:47:47
  2. Truckin - 5:49:52
  3. Silhouette - 5:53:13
  4. Easy Rider - 5:54:41
  5. Artful Dodger - 5:57:49
