Ahoy!

8 boats started and finished the 2024 Annual Tune-Up race.  Sorry if you missed out on this perfect day of sailing as the wind  was sufficient to carry all types of sailboats around the course #1 in reverse with the Sun shinning bright, but the temperature moderate.  The Alerions wrestled within their own design competition, the heavier boats struggled, and the performance boats wished for a bit more wind.   The preseason races prepared Gloria and her crew for the day which duplicated previous Sunday's conditions and she won the first cup awarded in 2024.  The early season's tides were a factor at East Chop in these June races.  Will we get less current come July and August?

My apologies for the tardy report as we work out communication issues with the new VHYC fleet captains.  In this case, their report went to my Spam folder.

On Thursday the Season's races begin.  Time to start accumulating scores which will count towards the 2024 final awards.

Please respond to this email with your intentions about who is coming to the VHYC for a supper on the porch of the club after Thursday's race for a results report and chance to talk about how to get around the course a little quicker.  The crew at the snack bar would like to have an idea of how many will be attending.  If your plans change, and you can attend even if not reporting, don't hesitate.

   All the best,

   Roger.
