Seven boats came out for a blustery dash around Course 7 and most finished the 9.9 mile race in under an hour and 45 minutes. The big boats were delighted but even Mike Powers was looking for a little more weight on the rail of the Artful Dodger. Frank Sutula sailed Soma Holiday to victory in the 15 knot winds gusting over 20. The fast reaching race allowed little time for the ratings to help the fast boats to gain their time on the boats carrying higher numbers, but mark it down as a glorious day on the water.
The HHSA 2023 annual awards pot luck dinner will be held at the VHYC this year at 6 PM on Wednesday, September 6th. Besides a dish to share, we are asking everyone to bring along a plate and utensils to keep the clean up work to a minimum.
The end of season celebratory Moffett Race is the following Saturday.
