Ahoy!
9 boats enjoyed a light southeast breeze for a reverse triangle with a .5 mile windward starting leg. The telling was in the final leg, Nun 4 at West Chop back to the finish line at Nun 6. Does the wind actually curve as it crosses the Harbor?
I'm afraid the results announced at the snack bar after the race were incorrect as the distance entered at the club did not account for the windward leg. The corrected distance reveals Artful Dodger to be the winner by just 13 seconds over Silhouette. My apologies for not catching that before reading the results. There were other changes in the scoring because of this change to the recorded distance as is apt to happen when the finish times are so close.
Discussion at the dinner table was about the coming Vineyard Cup Regatta. Have you entered yet? Entry fees go to support the work at Sail MV and if the summer weather we have been enjoying holds, the two days of racing will be grand. Good chance to see how the PHRF-NE ratings compare to our custom HHSA numbers.
Next race is Sunday the 3rd. More light air is expected.
4 H-12s raced a course into the harbor this evening.
All the Best, Roger.
