Ahoy!

The first HHSA Thursday evening race for 2022 was sailed by 5 boats in a blustery 12 -15 knot breeze under cooling grey skies.  Tamu, Tom Wesott's Alerion 28, won the race by just 3 seconds over 2nd place Artful Dodger, Mike Power's Tartan 3500...from Falmouth.  The strongest winds so far for our 2022 season's racing, battered my boat Gloria, inexplicably causing the starboard spreader to fall from the mast into the briny deep.  That's make the 3rd time in 35 years that an equipment failure caused Gloria to withdraw from a race.  Hopefully not a trend.

Two H-12's handled the breeze well, but a miss communication apparently led the boats in different directions.  A communications glitch also accounts for this late report of the scores.  All part of the usual early season orientation.

Sunday is the first race which will count towards the seasons' awards.  Forecast currently promises a good wind.

All the Best,  Roger..
