Ahoy!
As predicted, another perfect evening for a sail and 14 boats started with the regular HHSA fleet and 3 H-12s raced as a one design fleet on a special course laid out by Phil Hale. It's like there is no pandemic going on at all! An unusual east wind made for a reaching start at Nun 6 with the course proceeding to West and East Chop. The Herreshoff fleet followed a similar course but with shorter legs and a 15 minute head start. All ferry captains seemed to have gotten my message and they were almost overly polite and no horn blowing was necessary.
Congratulations to Bow Van Riper. His 3rd win in a row wins him a 10 Sec/mile penalty for the rest of the season.
Charlie Felder, sailing Bazinga, beat out Whirlwind and Pandora to win the first H-12 race.
Next race is Sunday, course to be determined based on weather conditions. Committee boat will start the race, but each racer must report their own finish time. Finish between the VHYC and Nun 6 within100 feet of the Nun.
See you there.
Roger.
