Happy 4th of July!
The Holmes Hole Sailing Association continued its tradition of every once in a while celebrating the 4th of July with a parade around the Vineyard Haven Harbor! No Bands or Music, no Tanks or Guns and no Cheering crowds. But this year there were 11 floats of every description each with celebrants representing at least 2 or 3 different states from across the country. They were majestic, if slow, but that only because there was just not much wind. None the less, they all finished the parade, none the worse for wear.
Next race is to Chappy on Sunday Morning. It will be a pursuit start and your start time will be published tomorrow. Watch your email box and/or check the Holmeshole.org website BLOG.
All the best, Roger.
