Ahoy!
Sundays race started out with variable winds shifting west to southwest. 10 boats sailed in sparkling conditions out of Vineyard Haven Harbor. Course 3 was selected to avoid fog rolling in from Vineyard Sound and across Falmouth. Sailors had to fight a flooding current once they turned around green bell 23 to head home. Boats that stayed close to East Chop to avoid the current fared better. Despite accidentally starting more than a minute late, Sheggia, sailed singlehandedly by Tim Gollin, crossed the finish line first. The finish was graced by the magnificent 213 foot three masted Schooner Adix, hailing from London.
