Another fun day on the water for Lagoonah. And Phil thought I should retire the boat because of deck issues and concerns the chain plates could give way and we could dismast the boat.
Well how about the engine stalling just before the start with a strong smell of diesel -- which started pumping out the bilge! Put ten gallons in last week and it's gone with less than one hour on the engine!
We decided to race anyway, but when we were bucking three knot currents on the way back, I said to Peter, "It probably wouldn't be a good time to dismast the boat when we have NO fuel, would it?"
Fortunately the winds were favorable when we sailed back the mooring. Just one ricochet off of Stormalong and we were right on the ball!
Phil, I'll be talking to you obviously.

Subject: HHSA Tune-up Race Results
Ahoy!
Eleven boats showed up for the 2015 HHSA Tune Up race. The Race course #5 took the boats to just off Falmouth and back in a strongly ebbing tide and East North Easterly wind which steadily increased in force. The Tide and winds left the fleet with a windward beat to return to the harbor and the sorting out was great fun to watch. Many boats changed position with one another as they selected their tacks, raising false expectations of great honors.
Congratulations to Brian Roberts and AILEEN in their Tune up race victory.
Thursday evening will be the first race of the season that will count towards the seasons' awards. See you there.
Roger.
