--Ahoy! 11 boats started today's race and 10 made around the course #3 with a windward starting leg. As forecasted, the wind was mild and built up as the boats made the great circle race. Here's what else happened to those out in the sound too long: CURRENT. FOUL. Maitland won the cup with a little over a minute to spare, her third win in a row.... which requires a 15 Sec/Mi adjustment to her rating to be carried until the end of the year. Trinity was the elapsed time winner. Her "starter rating" of -15 was reduced to -19 after the 5 race adjustment was made for her next 5 or so races...so she is doing a little better than expected. The story about the first mark needs to be told by others...but it looked like some port starboard issues combined with uncertainty about which side to leave the N6 buoy on. Hopefully it was all sorted out to everyone's satisfaction.

Sign up for Moffett race so you don't get left out. The year end celebration race draws boats of every description. Great race for those interested in how the various designs compare. All welcome, HHSA members or not.
