Re: HHSA: Sunday's Results 7/19

Hello to everyone- this was a great course to sail on a day that couldn’t have been more enjoyable.  It was an opportunity to have a day when the NW wind didn’t  fade to a drifter.

I’m still serious about the placard for the #7 on the Vig.  She and I go back to the days in the early 1960’s  when I came up through the JSP, and the old Vig became the “ new” Vig we see today.  Best- Rich Hehre

Ahoy!

9 boats raced course #7 in reverse.  The WNW winds held up well throughout the afternoon and the race offered some lessons about currents in the sound as the flooding tide turned to ebb at differing rates across the sound.  Easy Rider won the cup, I believe the first time for Bob Simons, who has raced regularly through 2025 in the new design: a J9.

Next race is Thursday, July 23rd, 5:00 PM Warning.

   All the best,  Roger.

Subject: HHSA Results - 7/19/26

Ahoy Roger!

Today was a fantastic day of racing! We had a picture perfect day with a mild NW breeze that shifted more to the West around the start of the race. We ran Course 7 in reverse, which gave the fleet a couple of solid beat legs between the chops. Apologies again for the confusion with the course display! I didn’t have a 7 board and did my best to turn my 1 into a 7, but I completely understand why some of you were confused. Someone aboard Trinity IX told me to send the dimensions of our boards so he could fashion us a 7, so I’ll work on that for next time. We had one boat retire early- I believe Bliss said that they bumped into 23A if I heard correctly, so hoping all is okay there. 8 boats made it successfully around, and it was nice to see a couple of boats out for the first time at least in a while. Looking forward to seeing everyone again on Thursday! The results are as follows:

       Elapsed Times:
  1. Trinity IX - 3:54:08
  2. Easy Rider - 3:56:25
  3. Artful Dodger - 3:58:17
  4. Bandit - 4:00:24
  5. Penelope - 4:01:21
  6. Tamu - 4:07:26
  7. Altius - 4:18:47
  8. Gloria - 4:21:29
  9. Bliss - Retired
Take care,
Rawson
