Ahoy!
Artful Dodger ran away with it today. The winds helped the heavier boats, but Mike Powers in Artful Dodger really found the shortest route and kept gaining until the end. 9 boats tried out their craft in this early bird event and everyone looked good. Artful was almost 5 minutes ahead of the fleet. The 6 other boats that reported a time all finished within 3 minutes of each other in the 1.5 hour race. Great day with East wind and sun...hopefully a sign of things to come.
Pot luck kick off is Thursday at the VHYC, 6:00 PM. All are welcome.
The Tune-up race is next Sunday. It was designed for the "not quite early birds" and will be the first opportunity to win a coffee cup. Won't help towards season's awards but usually draws a good, interested turn out. Season starts with Thursday, June 19th race.
Flying Cloud and Joie De Vivre reported late that they finished poorly. That's why we have these practice races!
