Ahoy!

5 boats sailed the triangle in reverse with about 8 knots of WSW wind.  Blue skies and smooth water made for a delightful late afternoon October sail.  It was a broad reach or run to East Chop with a difference in opinion about the best route.  Penelope, picking the middle reached the Can 23a first, using his Hoyt jib boom and winged out main with no funny business to show everyone else how to do it.  The final two legs were both tight, close hauled, lopsided beats and both legs had shifts near the marks that required everyone to take a hitch.  The expected foul current in the sound hadn't developed in time to hurt much and the race was finished in good time, though not especially fast. Gloria, again enjoying the light winds, won the race.

Stay tuned for more racing, although a few boats have finished up for the season.

Roger.
