Ahoy!

11 boats, including Shannon, the Cal 33 from Falmouth, started Sunday's race on another light wind day on the water.   Again we welcomed a few, rarely seen contenders and the mix of types of boats reminded me of HHSA racing in the past.  The course, #2 in reverse,  offered only one 1 mile leg of windward work and that together with the light breeze also mixed up the finish times in unexpected ways.  Encore, the traditional ketch, relished the lack of windward work and won the race with 3 minutes to spare.  It should be noted that we had several racers using ratings that have not been locked in for the year because of a lack of data.  These things be will worked out as they put some times up on the charts.

HHSA welcomes all monohull boats and, using a rating system based on actual finish times recorded over the years, promises competitive racing among the diverse fleet.

Next race is Thursday...5 PM warning.   Also, it is time to sign up for the Vineyard Cup...another way for HHSA boats to compete, using the PHRF-NE rating system.

Attached are also some pictures taken by Adam Hayes.
