Re: Sunday Race, 10 am Start

Great thing about sailboat racing - there is always something new to go wrong!

This crazy season continues for me.  Get crew. Get no rain.  Get broken shackle or something on roller furling and have jib fall in the water as we get ready to start.

So Roger  -- after using my spinnaker line for a halyard,  I got back in line looking for Avanti, but settled in well behind Magic Time.

Figured that maybe a 1 hour and 43 minute time for a modified course might count more than a DNC!J

Ahoy!

A Fall Series Race is scheduled for Sunday morning with a 10 AM Start.

Phil Hale has volunteered to be the rabbit in a rabbit start

Course selected is No. 1, which is twice around West Chop to East Chop and it is to be in REVERSE

Rabbit Countdown
9:55 - First signal (horn)
9:56 - Second signal (horn)
9:59 - Third Signal (horn)
10:00 Fourth signal (horn) and START

How the Start Works: 45 seconds--plus or minus--before the final gun, Tango will pass just north of Nun 6,  (1-2 feet) heading
west toward the beach. At 10:00/horn start, everyone passes between Tango's stern and nun six. At the
finish—an imaginary line between the end of the yacht club dock and nun 6--take your own time and send it to Roger.

Watch your email/HHSA blog for cancellation around 8 am, if the weather looks poor.

Weather Forecast at 10 am, 13 mph from SSE, temp 72F, 53% chance of rain/thunderstorm

Post Race Gathering: at Rocco's at aprox. 12:30 PM

See you on the water!
