Ahoy -
7 boats raced the course Zero triangle in NNE winds of 11 knots and weakening. The harbor was not nearly as Choppy as expected and that made for a pleasant evening's sail. Artful Dodger, the first to get on the port tack, found the breeze to her liking and won the race by just less than a minute over second place Gloria. Again the next 4 positions were within 1-1/2 minute. Did the lack of the 1/2 mile windward starting leg make a difference? Who knows?
One more race for the 2024 season will be Sunday, though the season's standings seem pretty much set. See you there.
The HHSA awards pot luck supper will be at the VHYC Wednesday evening, at 6 PM.
The 2024 Moffett race is Saturday, Sept. 7th. Register before midnight on Labor day, or pay a late fee. The after race party will be a the VHYC as in recent years. Don't miss it. The Moffett race is a one of a kind affair where boats of all typed race for just one first place prize. Past winners range from a Rhodes 19 to a J120. Great way to celebrate the end of the summer sailing season.
