A nice breeze with the sky full of smoke greeted the racers this evening. 6 boats safely started along with 4 H-12s heading downwind with the wind coming from the port side. It was all over too soon, but the wind was starting to die off. The crew on Gloria at first was concerned the wind would be too much and allow the longer boats to make hay all the way around. As the wind began to lighten, she made up time on the beat from East Chop to the finish and won the race.
Sunday's forecast is for heavy wind and so watch for emails as the conditions become apparent.
