Ahoy!
As predicted, we were greeted in the morning with very light winds. Not predicted was the Northerly direction. The course was changed to the Harbor Triangle with hopes for two times around. The fleet was happy to give it up after once around and most were on their moorings when the Southerly filled in at about 1:00. 8 boats came for a race to Robinson's Hole and then 2 small boats joined when the course was changed....they both were unable to finish. Altius struggled to get around N4 but finally did get on the leg to East Chop. By then the current was ripping at Can 23a and when asked if he stopped in at Nancy's on the OB harbor front, Alan replied that the age old HHSA racing tactic of tactically dropping the anchor for 15 minutes kept Altius from the OB SSA dock and allowed time for the wind to come up and get him back home.
The ratings didn't help anyone as the times between boats grew too long. Corrected times order was the same as Elapsed times order which with the exception of Altius, followed the order of the ratings.
Next Race is Thursday Evening. There will be committee boat on station for start and finish.
All the best, Roger.
