HHSA Announces 2020 Season!

AHOY!

The Holmes Hole Sailing Association is announcing its 2020 Summer season.  In this time of much uncertainty the Board of Governors has decided to forge ahead with plans for another great year of sailing.

We are hoping to race all summer long as in the past and will work around, over or through any obstruction, barrier or shoal to continue the HHSA traditions.  Social distancing is encouraged, on and off the water, and that may change the way we gather after the fun on the water.  Plans at the VHYC have not been finalized so changes in how we conduct the racing and use of the club may also be different than years past.  The Martha's Vineyard Shipyard has indicated its services will be available this week and fully functioning after the "Stay at Home" directive is lifted, May 4th.  As always, the HHSA is concerned for its member's safety on and off the water and will adhere to all health and safety guidelines.

The Holmeshole.org website is updated and the 2020 schedule is available for download if desired.  The 2020 circular is online and will govern the racing as in the past.  Preseason racing, if enough boats are ready to go, will begin on Memorial Day Weekend.  Notices will be emailed and preseason racing will be organized by our Commodore, Mo Flam.  The traditional Tune-up race will start June 21st at 1:00 PM at Nun 6.  The first evening race will be the following Thursday, June 25th, 6:00 PM.  The season will include 22 scheduled races.

Please advise us of your intentions as soon as they are determined and go to the Website to pay your dues and renew your membership.  Alternatively, a check to Wendell would work or most directly, use this link:  https://www.regattanetwork.com/membermgmt/HHSA/membership_registration_start.php

I'm personally looking forward to seeing everyone again and spending as much time as possible on the water this summer.

Wishing you the best of health,

          Roger.
