Ahoy! Sorry if you missed the Gam at the Wharf. Lots of big plans for the 2019 season. Attached is the 2019 schedule and tentative 2019 handicaps.
Just a couple of notes:
1. The usual 2 race Sunday harbor days are changing to One race only, starting at 1:00 PM.
2. Except for the 3 Rendezvous race days, A 1:00 PM starting Sunday race could be on any of the 8 courses #1 - #8. That is: The race may be in the harbor or the sound and this will depend on the weather. Hopefully this will make better use of the good winds than might allow a sound race. These races have often been cancelled in the past.
3. We are abandoning the June/July - Aug/Sep division of the season and instead are separating the Sunday races from the Thursday evening racing. The Jewett Championship award will continue the tradition of including scoring in both. This will allow those who have a regular schedule conflict on Sunday or Thursday to still score well in one or the other.
4. Handicaps could be adjusted for any boat who has yet to complete 10 races within the last 3 years or for any boat that has been materially changed since last year. Hopefully the result of the ratings will be to assure confidence that over the entire season, you are competitive with the other boats.
