Ahoy!

As announced at the HHSA annual dinner, Mo Flam was nominated by the board and unanimously accepted as the new Commodore serving a three year term starting now as the 2016 season is over.  Mo will start by working with the Race committee, Roger Becker, Phil Hale and Jerry Goodale to continue the post season racing.

The next race will be Sunday at 1:00 PM.  The evening race next week will be Wednesday at 5:00 PM as the board urges all HHSA members to attend the Coast Guard hearing concerning the removal of our turning mark, Nun 4 and other aids to navigation, including buoys marking the channel at Robinson's Hole.
The hearing is from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Thursday, Sept. 22, in the Katharine Cornell Theater in Vineyard Haven.

Congratulations to Mo Flam!

Results of Thursday's race are attached.  7 Boats enjoyed a long sloppy beat to East Chop Can 23a. Remember to watch the rabbit in a rabbit start rather than paying too much attention to the clock!  If you think you can better time the start and want to serve as Rabbit, contact Phil Hale.  You will want to pay close attention to your clock at the finish and get your times to me as soon as possible as folks are eager to know the results.  Phil has declined the offer of 30 seconds for last nights race.

Plan on attending Sunday's 1:00 PM race even if you are not contending for the Schwarz Cup.  September sailing is always delightful.

Yours, Roger.
