Thursday race

HI all

Thursday race, start at 6:00 P.M. world time.

We will use the Rabbit Start

I will pick the direction of the course and will act as the committee boat. The horn sequence is as follows.

First horn 5:55

Second horn 5:56

Fourth horn 5:59

Fifth horn 6:00 start

The plan is that at a few seconds before the starting horn (@ 6:00 P.M.) "Tango" will pass buoy #6 headed toward the West Chop Shore everyone will pass between "Tango" and the mark that is your start. "Tango" will swing around and to leeward of everyone and the race has on...

My guess is we will go West to East once around, will make a final decision on the water .

As you across the finish line record your time and either you can or I will pass it on to Roger; who will calculate the results

Phil reports 4 boats had a great day with 8 to 10 knot winds out of the NE.  They raced course #1 in good time and reported their times as they finished.  With the new division assignments, which have not yet been finalized, the X28s would compete in the B division, with all the faster boats assigned to the A division.  More info on this to come. 

The TUNE-UP race scheduled for Next Sunday, June 14th will race as one division and only one cup awarded.  The tune up race does not count towards season's awards. 

Before you ask, Hein Kher has been assigned a handicap determined by the average handicap of the other three x28s in the fleet. This was calculated using Penelope's unpenalized number of 35.  The handicap is subject to instant change until Mead has raced with HHSA 10 times.  How the boat differs and the experience of the crew will soon show out.
