Ahoy!  

 

     Sunday's race was a bright blue affair with a strong westerly wind which shifted towards the north as the boats progressed.   9 entries started near the oyster farm in the middle of some sort of fishermen's gathering.  The fishing boats high tailed it as we started and beat our way to Nun 6.  That half mile of windward work was the extent of it and the rest of the course #1 was broad reaches and runs with a close reach on the first lap from East Chop to Nun 6.  Even that leg became an easy reach for the second lap much to the chagrin of those who took an early hitch after rounding Can 23a.  Angelina, the winner, was performing way better than her rating throughout the race.  The wind started to drop off a bit half way along the way but then renewed in strength as it made the shift north.  White caps but smooth waters got all the boats moving fairly quickly. 

 

    Only 2 races remain in the 2020 regular season.  Next race is Thursday with a 5:30 Warning signal.  Attached please find the results and the current standings in this years hotly contested race for the Jewett Cup and season's awards. 

 

    Please advise your friends to get registered for the Moffett race NOW.
